Extensive Security Arrangements for Civic Polls in Nashik and Four Other Cities
Authorities have mobilized heavy police and home guard forces to ensure safe and peaceful municipal corporation elections in Nashik, Malegaon, Ahilyanagar, Dhule, and Jalgaon. The security bandobast covers polling and counting days with specialized units on high alert.
Nashik City Police Deploy Multiple Specialized Units
Nashik city police have readied a comprehensive security plan under Commissioner Sandeep Karnik. The deployment includes personnel from the State Reserve Police Force (SRPF), Quick Response Teams (QRT), Riot Control Police (RCP), and Bomb Detection and Disposal Squads (BDDS).
Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime) Sandeep Mitke detailed the arrangements. "We have organized a bandobast involving three Deputy Commissioners of Police and seven Assistant Commissioners of Police," Mitke stated. "This includes 46 Police Inspectors, 186 Assistant Police Inspectors and Police Sub-Inspectors, 2,698 constables, and 1,900 home guards."
The city police have also formed thirty-seven striking force teams. Each team comprises ten officers along with city crime branch personnel. These teams will rush to locations experiencing disputes or violence during the election process.
Mitke emphasized that security arrangements extend one hundred meters from all polling centers. Two companies of SRPF and two squads each of QRT, RCP, and BDDS will bolster the overall deployment.
Nashik Rural Police Secure Malegaon with Additional Measures
Nashik rural police have stationed substantial forces in Malegaon. Over 1,100 policemen and 900 home guards will maintain order. The contingent includes seventeen Police Inspectors, sixty-eight Assistant Police Inspectors and Police Sub-Inspectors, eight sub-divisional officers, and two trainee Deputy Superintendents of Police.
Additional Superintendent of Police Teghbir Singh Sandhu explained the planning. "We executed the bandobast according to directions from Superintendent Balasaheb Patil," Sandhu said. The rural police have also externed eighty-three anti-social individuals until January seventeenth.
Given Malegaon's sensitivity, authorities will deploy additional bandobast at forty-one election centers. This extra layer aims to prevent any untoward incidents during the voting process.
Two platoons of SRPF and RCP units will support the regular police force in Malegaon.
Ahilyanagar, Jalgaon, and Dhule Police Outline Their Security Plans
Ahilyanagar Additional Superintendent of Police Vaibhav Kalbure shared their deployment strategy. "Under the supervision of Superintendent Somnath Gharge and myself, we will deploy 1,023 constables, 650 home guards, and two companies of the RCXP," Kalbure stated. The plan includes one company of SRPF, five striking force teams, six Police Inspectors, and four Deputy Superintendents of Police.
Jalgaon police have planned to station 1,200 constables and 1,100 personnel for election duty. In Dhule, the bandobast comprises over 600 constables, 700 home guards, fourteen Police Inspectors, seventeen Assistant Police Inspectors, forty-two Police Sub-Inspectors, and four Deputy Superintendents of Police.
Dhule Superintendent of Police Shrikant Dhivare will oversee these arrangements personally. All five municipal corporations are receiving coordinated security efforts to guarantee peaceful civic elections.
