Villagers in Chaubepur, Kanpur, expressed shock and anger on Monday evening. They found several monkey carcasses lying along Bandimata road near Fattepur village. The discovery sparked immediate concern among the local community.
Discovery of Dead Monkeys
Some villagers spotted the dead monkeys while heading to their fields. The carcasses were scattered over a 300-metre stretch of the road. This grim scene quickly drew attention as news spread through the area.
Residents believe that someone poisoned the monkeys and then dumped their bodies there. The sight of multiple dead animals in one location raised serious suspicions. Villagers felt distressed by this apparent act of cruelty.
Public Outrage and Police Response
A large crowd of villagers gathered at the spot after hearing about the incident. They attempted to contact the police using a CUG number but received no response. This failure to connect added to their frustration and resentment.

Postmortem and Demands for Action
The police informed a veterinary officer about the dead monkeys. Officials sent the carcasses for postmortem examination to determine the exact cause of death. This step aims to provide clarity on whether poisoning occurred.

The villagers remain vigilant as they await results from the postmortem. They hope for swift action from authorities to prevent such incidents in the future. The community seeks answers and assurances for their safety and environmental concerns.
