A bus was set on fire by an angry crowd in Indore on Wednesday morning. The incident occurred after the bus hit a motorcycle rider near Patel Bridge. This event triggered panic in the area and forced authorities to call in the fire brigade.

Details of the Incident

The Tukoganj police station in-charge, Jitendra Yadav, provided details about the incident. He stated that the accident happened around 9:30 am under Patel Bridge. The location was close to the Chhoti Gwaltoli stretch, in front of platform 5-6 of the railway station.

A bus belonging to Baneshwari Travels collided with a motorcycle. Following this collision, locals allegedly poured inflammable material on the bus and torched the vehicle. The crowd's anger led to the bus being set ablaze.

Response from Fire Brigade and Police

Fire tenders were immediately rushed to the spot. When they arrived, the vehicle was found engulfed in tall flames. The burning bus drew the attention of passers-by and brought traffic to a standstill in the busy area.

Fire brigade sub-inspector Shobharam Malviya reported that the blaze was brought under control after spraying a tanker of water. The driver was not present at the scene when the fire team arrived. Authorities believe the driver fled after the bus was set on fire.

Injuries and Legal Action

The motorcyclist involved in the collision was identified as 22-year-old Santosh Pandagre. He suffered injuries in the accident and was taken to a private hospital for treatment. Pandagre was admitted to the hospital for further care.

His friend, Naveen Karole, was also mentioned in the report. A case has been registered against the bus driver under specific sections of the law. The charges include section 125 a, which deals with acts endangering life or personal safety due to rashness or negligence. Additionally, section 281 for rash or negligent driving was applied under the BNS.
