Police in Mangaluru have made another arrest in a disturbing assault case involving a migrant labourer. The Kavoor police station took Mohan, aged 37, into custody on Wednesday. This development brings the total number of arrests to four.
Details of the Assault Incident
The victim, Diljan Ansari, hails from Jharkhand. He suffered an assault on Sunday. The attackers suspected him of being a Bangladeshi national, leading to the violent incident.
Police Action and Previous Arrests
Mangaluru City Police Commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy confirmed the latest arrest. Mohan is a resident of Kuloor. Earlier, police had detained three other individuals in connection with this case.
Those previously arrested include:
- Rateesh Das, 32
- Dhanush, 24
- Sagar, 24
All three were also taken from Kulur. The Kavoor police registered a case under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) following the assault on Diljan Ansari.
This case highlights ongoing concerns about migrant safety and identity-based violence in the region. Authorities continue their investigation to ensure justice for the victim.
