Officials from the District Child Protection Unit in Koppal rescued a 10-year-old boy on Tuesday. The child was performing dangerous stunts while dressed in girl's attire at the Sri Gavisiddeshwar Jatra.

Parents Dressed Boy as Girl to Attract Crowds

The boy's parents had deliberately dressed him as a girl to draw more attention at the fair. They believed this would help them earn better money through his stunt performances.

This nomadic family originally hails from Madhya Pradesh. They traditionally perform stunts like tightrope walking to earn their livelihood.

Social Media Videos Trigger Rescue Operation

Videos of the "girl" performing stunts had gained significant traction on social media platforms. After seeing these videos, DSPU officials decided to take immediate action.

The officials conducted a raid at the fair venue. They successfully rescued the child they believed to be a girl.

Surprise Discovery During Registration Process

Authorities took the child to a girls' Balamandir for admission. During the registration process, while filling Form No. 17, the truth finally emerged.

The boy's parents revealed their child was actually a boy. They explained they had dressed him as a girl specifically to attract larger audiences.

Boy Transferred to Appropriate Shelter

Following this revelation, authorities promptly transferred the boy to a boys' Balamandir. The child protection unit ensured he received proper care at the correct facility.

The rescued boy will soon be sent back to his parents' hometown. Officials are making necessary arrangements for his safe return.
