MUMBAI: Dahisar Police have arrested eight individuals in connection with an assault on a man stemming from a long-standing dispute. The incident, which occurred on June 15 at Ovaripada in Dahisar East, gained widespread attention after a CCTV clip of the beating went viral on Thursday.
The victim, identified as Bunty, was attacked by a group of people from the same neighborhood. The altercation was reportedly rooted in an old disagreement. Bunty sustained serious injuries and was subsequently admitted to a hospital for treatment.
Following the incident, police analyzed CCTV footage to identify the perpetrators. An FIR has been registered against 17 individuals, with charges including attempt to commit murder, according to police officials. The arrested suspects are currently in custody as investigations continue.
Authorities are urging anyone with additional information to come forward to assist in the ongoing probe. The case highlights the use of surveillance technology in solving violent crimes in urban areas.
