In a significant administrative move, the Odisha government has decided to bifurcate the Sambalpur tehsil, with a new tehsil to be established at Burla. Focus on Modern Technology and Corruption-Free Governance
Pujari highlighted the state government's commitment to speeding up revenue-related work by integrating modern technology. This initiative aims to ensure that citizens receive quality services without the need for repeated office visits, thereby reducing bureaucratic hurdles and saving time for the public.
Furthermore, the minister reiterated the government's "zero tolerance" policy towards corruption. He warned that strict action would be taken against officials involved in illegal activities, while sincere and efficient employees would be rewarded. Broader Administrative Restructuring Plan Unveiled
Outlining a comprehensive administrative restructuring plan, Pujari revealed that Bhubaneswar will be divided into three tehsils, while Cuttack will be split into two. This restructuring is designed to streamline governance and improve responsiveness to local needs across the state.
To support these changes, the government will soon fill several vacant posts of revenue inspectors and amins. Additionally, a new revenue inspector (RI) office will be set up in every panchayat in a phased manner. Initially, one RI will cover two panchayats, with plans to expand coverage as the system becomes more established.
